I can’t believe that Christmas is only a few days away!!! With the kids on winter break, time just seems to fly by. I hope that everyone is having a great Christmas break and happy holidays!
Here’s a lunch I made for Sean the other day- homemade minestrone soup and a few small Santa sandwiches made with roast beef and swiss.

I love the idea of sandwich cut outs…but what do you do with the crusts. While a part of me wants to do this, the other part asks am I teaching the kids to be wasteful? What do you do?
Hi Lydia! I usually save the other parts of the sandwich for me to eat but I also do a lot with the crusts. I use the bread crusts to make croutons or save them for other recipes that require bread like meatballs, meatloaf, and hamburger to name a few. I usually cut them up and store them in the freezer and when I have enough I make bread pudding.
