Bear Sandwich Bento

During my trip to Hilo, I picked up this cute bear-shaped bento box at the local mall!  It’s a pretty good sized box that measures about 6 1/2 inches X 4 1/2 inches.  For today’s bento I packed a bear turkey sandwich, watermelon, and some veggies.  I made a similar bear bento a while back and decided to keep it simple and reuse the idea. :)

Panda Onigiri with Oven Fried Chicken Wings

We just returned from the Big Island yesterday after spending some time with family and friends.  This was the first time that we got to meet Grandma’s new dog, Beck, and we all totally fell in love with him because he is such a sweet dog!  Paige wanted to take him home with us so that Macky would have a friend. :)

We also took a picture from the airplane of Mauna Kea since we flew next to it.  Being from Hawaii, snow is a rare thing so Paige and I were very excited to see some snow on the mountain.  Believe it or not, as old as I am, I have never played, touched, or been in snow before.  Building a snow man and skiing are on my list of things to do before I turn 60. :)

Today’s bento consists of a panda onigiri, oven fried chicken, some fruits, and veggies- including a cherry tomato that Paige grew. :)
