Simple Turkey and Cheddar Flower Biscuit Bento #106

After the long weekend, it’s definitely time for me to restock the fridge!  I didn’t even have bread for sandwiches today, so I decided to improvise and use the Pillsbury Biscuit dough that I had on hand and make biscuit muffins filled with cheddar cheese and turkey.  The best part was that it was really super simple to make!  I took the package of Pillsbury  Grands Butter Tastin’ Biscuits, stuffed them with sliced turkey deli meat and shredded cheddar cheese, and then put them in a silicone flower cup to bake.  After 18 minutes (at 350 degrees) they looked like this…

I put them in a basket along with a few slices of nectarines and a package of fruit snacks. I also added a little cheese lady bug on top of the biscuit and a flower pick to decorate the basket.  Now it’s time for me to go grocery shopping and I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend! :)

  5. Oh wow! Those little biscuits/muffins looked so lovely!!!!
I wonder are these the same type of biscuits sold in KFC???

  6. Oh! I love it when you run out of bread!! LOL
The biscuits in the flower shaped silicone cups are very cute…you could almost leave them “as is” for bento! Yes? Your idea to fill the biscuits before baking is brilliant. Many ideas come to mind! Cute lunch as always!

I just bought pizza dough to try and make mini calzones. I never thought to stuff it into a muffin cup. I think you’re on to something!

  20. This is too cute! How did you make the eyes of the cheese lady bug?

  21. Janine

Those are just too cute !! Definilty going to have to try and make those for my 4 year old and almost 2year old daughters.. How did you make the eyes of the ladybug?

Oh ya and where ever did you find those cute flower cups??

  22. I have them baking in the oven as I type this! I did struggle a little to get the biscuit around the meat and cheese: did you just use one biscuit for each muffin, or two?

I have done two varieties: turkey with cheese and roast beef with horseradish! I will let you know how they turn out: they are for a picnic at the waterpark tomorrow! :)

  23. I used Grands Jr. They weren’t as bad after I figured out I should put the “seam” face down. I made turkey with cheese and roast beef with horseradish: both were a huge hit with adults and kids! (The waterpark was great btw, thanks).

Hubby wants me to make a batch up and freeze them for his lunches (I’m slowly gearing him up for the full on bento experience – he just doesn’t know it yet! LOL)

    • Wow, the roast beef with horseradish sounds fantastic! I have to give that a try. :) Are you going to make him cute lunches? ;)

      • Ok, so I made 20 today: 10 beef with horseradish and 10 ham with spicy mustard.

I am going to TRY and slowly ease him into cute lunches (he won’t notice the transition hehehe). First, I have to find a fairly “manly” looking bento box…he will just think it is a fancy lunch box, then wapow! I hit him with cute (but masculine still) lunches LOL
