Sorry for the creepy bento post, but here is my latest entry to Kawaii Bento Club’s “Rock My Bento” contest!!! Today’s bento is inspired by Mark (my hubby) who is a huge metal fan. He grew up listening to what’s now referred to as “Classic Rock” (LOL) and still loves it to this day. Mark owns a massive CD collection of rock music from the late 70′s and 80′s, and though he’ll never admit it, he plays a pretty wicked electric guitar!
Anyway on to the bento, it is supposed to be Eddie- the mascot of Iron Maiden. At the very bottom is a picture of Eddie on Iron Maiden’s first album. I couldn’t figure out how to do the hair and then I saw this package of iriko- small dried anchovies! Eddie is made out of rice, iriko for his hair, nori for the eyes and nose, kamaboko for the teeth and eyes, and black sesame seeds for the inside of his mouth. The bento also includes shrimp shumai, carrots, grapes, oranges, and a cherry tomato.
Don’t forget to enter your Rock bento in Kawaii Bento Club’s “Rock My Bento” contest for some awesome prizes!

Ewww! Sorry I can’t look at those fish!
But super cool
Thanks Sheri!

Don’t apologize! It may be different from your usual style but I love seeing these different bentos from you! I didn’t know that you could sculpt rice so well! I absolutely love the anchovy hair, it looks even better than the real Eddie =D
Thanks Laura!
I really appreciate that!
This is so cool!!!
Thanks Xelia!
Had to grab hubby and drag him in here to see this…loving it! Rock on!
Thanks mommyof2girlz!
Haha! That is so cool! What does your hubby think?
Thanks Lyndsey, he loved it! Said it was a Man-Bento.
This is seriously one of the coolest food blogs I have ever seen and very inspiring! I do not have kids but I want to make cute Bentos for my boyfriend and all my friends now. I love the Iron Maiden Bento too (I’m also a huge metal fan)!!!
Cheers,
Sarah
Thanks Sarah!
I really appreciate that! That’s so cool that you would make them for your boyfriend!
You are getting very good at scary bento!! I will have to stop looking at your site before bed and look only in the morning hehe
Thanks Jenn! LOL, it’s so funny that it looks scarier on the computer than it does in person. The light was coming in from behind so that really helped cast shadows on his face.
