Hinamatsuri Bento #47

I got the official word that my second cookbook will be out next month in April!  So for Paige’s bento today, I made a variation of one that will be in the new book.  The bento includes two little girl musubis, chicken katsu bites, and a few veggies.

Paige got this bento box and Precious Moments doll from Grandma Geri.  Thanks Grandma! :D

Her name is Mayumi- which means truth, reason, and beauty.

Due out in April 2010!

  1. Congrats Susan! Love the girls, and supercute box + doll too! Happy Girls Day!

  2. Maybe maybe maybe I’ll get my hands on a copy of this issue. I’m still on the hunt for an illusive copy of the first edition somewhere! (I know it’s out of print, doesn’t stop me hunting though!)

The box Grandma got for the girls is adorable!

This bento addiction I have is killing me,(hunting down magic 4 square bento, leaflet tight bento and so on) maybe a good job I live in the UK otherwise I could be in serious bento rehab by now!

  3. I wish I had a grandma like Paige-the box is absolutely adorable…where did you get the cutter for the flowers?

  4. Congrats on the book! How exciting :D Bento is of course adorable! I love the little musubi girls!

Susan, we can’t wait for the new book! We’re halfway through the recipes in the first edition (Alton keeps repeating the kalua pig because he LOVES that one!!) so hopefully we’ll finish by April! Heard you and Paige had a great time on the radio (your proud hubby told us all about it!) – he really is proud of you, you know (but don’t let him get too big headed or take too much credit!) Congrats again! We’ll be first in line to pick up our copy! :)
